This topic primarily focuses on the concept of financial independence an the decisions that must be made in order to achieve it. The fundamental question here is what is the best way to manage personal finances? In answering this question, we look in detail at the decisions that people need to make in relation to spending, saving, investing, borrowing and managing their money.

TASKS
  1. Leave a blank page for a title page 
  2. On a new page copy the following- Definition of Commerce: 
an interchange of goods or commodities, especially on a large scale between different countries (foreign commerce) or between different parts of the same country  (domestic commerce) trade;business.

   4. Textbook and Organisation 
  • Create a Commerce Folder on your laptop. (Smart choice is to sync this with your google drive folder 
  • Download Commerce textbook from the last file at https://docs.google.com/a/syd.catholic.edu.au/file/d/0ByF32OosPA7jRGJmVTg3YzlpOTQ/edit
  • Click View and then the blue Download button. 
  • Save the textbook in your Commerce Folder


    5. Think, Pair, Share and Brainstorm 
  • With the person next to you, come up with 3 points that you think Commerce is about 
  • Share these with the class by writing them on the board. 
  • Copy the points into your book.

HOMEWORK - Due Friday
  • Complete a Commerce title page in your books. 
  • Due next lesson.
